- School of Medicine Health Happening fair. Walking for exercise will be the focus of the Health Happening health and wellness fair from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in the McDonnell Pediatric Research Building Atrium. Among the exhibits will be displays on treadmill use and how to select a proper shoe for different walking styles.

- Women’s basketball ranked No. 3 in preseason poll. The defending national champion women’s basketball team has been tabbed as the No. 3 team in the nation by DIII News in its annual preseason poll. WUSTL returns two starters and 14 letterwinners to a team that posted a 29-2 overall record a year ago and captured the program’s fifth national championship. The season opens at home at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, against Fontbonne University.
