South 40 faculty fellows settle in

The four newest members of the faculty fellows program, including Anca Parvulescu, PhD, assistant professor of English in Arts & Sciences, have settled into their apartments on the South 40. Since 1998, WUSTL professors have lived among students for three years at a time, helping them integrate academic and residential life.  FULL STORY

Pregnancy prevention program launched

A study of Missouri girls in foster care found that about half of them had become pregnant or had given birth by age 19. To address this startling statistic, WUSTL is launching a regional pregnancy prevention program for this high-risk population. The project will serve an estimated 600 teens in foster care in the St. Louis region. FULL STORY

Fike named prestigious Packard Fellow

David A. Fike, PhD, assistant professor of isotope biogeochemistry in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences in Arts & Sciences, has been named a Packard Fellow, a prestigious distinction awarded this year to only 17 top young researchers nationwide. FULL STORY

Olin helps students tackle tough job market

The Weston Career Center at Olin Business School is not sitting on the sideline, waiting for the economy to recover, campus recruiting to pick up and unemployment to drop. Poet Donnelly to read for fall Reading Series

  • Women’s basketball ranked No. 3 in preseason poll. The defending national champion women’s basketball team has been tabbed as the No. 3 team in the nation by DIII News in its annual preseason poll. WUSTL returns two starters and 14 letterwinners to a team that posted a 29-2 overall record a year ago and captured the program’s fifth national championship. The season opens at home at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, against Fontbonne University.
